Hey all,
After an unbelievable absence, there is a return… things are going to return to normal. Everything is okay, just being swamped, studios getting swamped and especially comments on the board that have really gotten me thinking - which I think is awesome. It’s important for the listeners to be critical and to put in their own ideas, because that’s part of being a good citizen, as well as a good listener
It’s coming back - “Dragon Quest VIII” is coming up and hopefully, you’ll get to hear it within two or three weeks!
My thanks,
Kenley

Yay!
Very awesome! I was waiting for a long time~
DQVIII’s a great choice, looking forward to it!
Dude, don’t worry about the show - after years of piano lessons during grade school, the music theory that I retain means that I absolutely appreciate the depths that you plumb - if it was much more technical, maybe I’d have trouble following it, but where you are has always been great for me.
Anyway, it’s good to hear from you, and I am (as are we all) looking forward to whatever is next.
Yeah, I have to agree, the show is great Kenley - keep doing what you’re doing. If the tag-line is giving you existential angst, then go ahead and change it.
I know how terminology debates can get in - well, in academia - so do whatever makes you feel right.
(This is the parenthetical where I continue plugging the score for Okami.)
Kenley,
This podcast is probably the best on the internet. It’s informative, educational and entertaining without being overly technical and alienating to those of us that were not classicaly trained in music. It is a way for all of us to learn and enjoy VGM without feeling like we are in school. I believe this is an academic study of VGM but it is academic without being boring or difficult to understand. You have a large variety of listeners. Some have studied music a lot some a little and some not at all. For you to put together a show that can reach that many differnet levels of education, teach and entertain all at the same time is a feat that most billion dollar TV companies can’t accomplish. You should be proud of what you do and how you do it. I know I am a proud listener. Thanks for all of your hard work and it’s great to have ya back.
What Des the Bard has written made me cry. Into The Score is the best podcast that I ever heard in my life. Hopefully I have discovered it!
Seriously, I am so happy you are back. It is embarassing and dumb to say that but I was afraid you face some serious problems IRL (like… death ?). I am so relieved ^^
Keep the good job, Kenley, I do look forward to hearing from you.
PS: Did you received the mail I sent you 2-3 months ago ?
Thank you SO much everyone, for your kind words
It makes me really happy that we have such a devoted fanbase and listeners who so devoted to the growth of the art of VGM, as well as the growth of their minds!
@Nataka - I’m not sure if I did, what name would come up in my inbox if it was you?
Intothescore > Vincent Thang. And the mail’s title is “I love your podcasts !
If you did not, I can send it to you one more time, it is not a matter.
If you’re doing DQ8, I hope you mention that the original Japanese soundtrack was synth, but it was replaced in international versions with music from the Dragon Quest VIII Symphonic Suite. I enjoyed the music, but it always bugged me a little that it sounds slightly echo-y, presumably from being recorded in a concert hall and not being intended for use as in-game music.
Quite late, but…
Welcome back. Can’t wait to hear that Dragon Quest VIII post. You’ll definitely have my tentative ear for that podcast.
Every thought to do a special or mini for Wild Arms? You would have me captivated for hours on that game series alone.
